A higher number in another mandi can catch your attention. It is the starting point for a better question, not the end of the analysis.
Match the commodity and variety
Garlic observations can represent different varieties and qualities. Comparing unlike records may make a normal quality difference look like a market opportunity. Ask which variety each figure describes.
Compare the same reporting day
One mandi may have a recent observation while another’s latest record is several days old. If the dates differ, say so clearly. “Latest available” is useful language; it is not a guarantee that both prices are current.
Understand the price fields
Minimum and maximum show the reported range. A variety’s modal price is its reported prevailing price, not an arithmetic mean of all transactions. A cross-variety summary is a different calculation and should be labelled accordingly.
Remember the costs outside the quote
Transport, handling, quality deductions and the actual offer available to you affect a decision. A difference in reported prices alone does not establish profit. Verify the practical details with the relevant market.
A better comparison question
Try: “Compare the latest available garlic records for the same variety in Neemuch and Mandsaur. Show the reporting dates and explain any gaps.” If the records cannot support that comparison, the answer should make the limitation clear.
Use AI for explanation, keep your judgement
AI can help organize the question and explain fields. It can also make mistakes. Verify material information and make your own decision rather than treating a generated response as a trading instruction.
